    Bird Focus Trip: looking for owl’s nests cancelled because of fog

    Check back again for the date that this trip will be rescheduled. Join the group for a driving trip, south and east of Red Deer to try to find Great Horned Owl nests. Meet at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre at noon. Bring snacks and drinks. Be prepared to carpool.

    Bird Focus Field Trip to search for owl’s nests

    This field trip had to be cancelled in March because of fog. Meet at noon at KWNC to car pool south and east of Red Deer to hunt for owl's nest.

    Meet at KWNC at 1 p.m. to carpool to Riverbend for a couple hours walking along the Red Deer River.

    Field Trip to Hwy 36 looking for cranes and snow geese

    April 26, 2015

    We will be heading out at 8 a.m. to the Alliance area where we will look for migrating Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese. Bring lunch, drinks and snacks for the day. Be prepared to carpool. Dress for the weather. This trip is weather and road conditions dependent. Please call Judy to pre-register.

The Red Deer River Naturalists acknowledges the traditional territory north of the Red Deer River of Treaty Six of the Blackfoot, Cree, Dene, Nakota Sioux (sue), and Saulteaux (sawl-toh) Peoples, the traditional territory south of the Red Deer River of Treaty Seven of the Niitsitapi (nee-itsee-TAH-peh) (Blackfoot), Siksika (seeg-see-kah), Piikani (pee-kah-nee), Kainai (g-ai-nah), Tsuu T’ina (soot-tenna), Stoney Nakota Peoples and the Battle River Territory District Three Métis Nation of Alberta.
We hope to serve and protect the traditional lands and waters with respect and commitment. Together, we can be a voice for nature.
