    Your Host:  Don Wales Topic:  Lepidoptera and miscellaneous orders. Lepidoptera - moths, butterflies. This is one of the most well known and easily recognizable orders of insects. The order Lepidoptera means 'scaly wings'. They have four large scale-covered wings that bear distinctive markings, and larvae that are caterpillars.
