Mountain Bluebird Trail Monitoring Guide

Red Deer River Naturalists is pleased to announce the publication of the Third Edition of the Mountain Bluebird Trail Monitoring Guide. This booklet, the premiere reference for setting up and maintaining a successful Mountain Bluebird trail, has been updated with a new cover, new images, and updated information, references and contact information.  The booklet will be available at Kerry Wood Nature Centre as of April 23, 2026. All proceeds from the sale of the book will support Red Deer River Naturalists research, conservation and education programs.

The book is also available as a downloadable PDF, with live links to all of the websites and resources mentioned in the booklet.  See link below and under Publications.

mobl_bluebirdThe booklet is intended to be used as a guide, not as a set of commandments; experienced bluebirders acknowledge that what works well in one region or under one set of circumstances might not work as well elsewhere. Differences may be significant, even within the same region.

mobl_hatchlingDon’t miss the series of spectacular photos documenting the daily development of Mountain Bluebirds from egg to adult. Clear line drawings show you step-by-step instructions for building bluebird nest boxes. Legal issues are addressed. This is the best book for the beginner or professional Mountain Bluebird trail operator on the market. Author Myrna Pearman has produced another classic. Click link below to access guide.
