Topic: Genetic Diversity and Population Structure of Coastal Wolves Across the British Columbia-Alaska Border

Michelle Hoang is a Master’s student at the University of Alberta in the Boyce Lab. She is studying population genetics of coastal wolves in Northern British Columbia and Southeastern Alaska. Michelle also works as a Resource Management Officer at Elk Island National Park, as part of the Wildlife Active Management team. She recently led a wildlife road mortality study and continues to contribute to wild boar management, carnivore connectivity, elk population demography and human-wildlife conflict projects. Outside of work and research, Michelle enjoys climbing, cycling, hiking and photography. She resides in Edmonton, Alberta, with her partner, 3 cats, a dog and a turtle.
