Pin: 52°24’07.9″N 113°09’03.6″W\nAugust 2\, 2023 starting at 7:00 p.m.\nYour Hosts: Myrna Pearman & Claudia Lipski. Expect to encounter a wide variety of bird species\, including White-faced Ibis\, Sora\, Black Tern\, Forster’s Tern\, Common Tern and Black-necked Stilt.\nThere is no formal boat launch at this site\, so participants should have water shoes and be comfortable with getting in and out of a water vessel from a muddy shoreline. However\, you’ll find ample parking and an outhouse facility! This trip will be considered an “informal” paddle. Each participant must sign a waiver\, have some prior canoeing/kayaking experience\, have proper life jackets and safety equipment\, and follow all regulations related to small water vessels. Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of a serene paddle on a local water body. Do not miss this opportunity to create lasting memories and embrace the wonders of nature! \nLocation: Magee Lake Public Access\, Pin: https://goo.gl/maps/s8ju5GpPNWWT5r5B9 \nDirections: From QEII\, take exit #431 onto Milton/Gadsby Lake Road\, proceed East for 19.5km to Rge Road 243. The road will dead-end at the lake. Meet at the boat launch at the end of Rge Road 243. Road surface on Rge Road 243 is gravel and well maintained. \nTime: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. \nAll participants should come prepared for 2-3 hours on the water with snacks\, water\, sunscreen\, bug spray and suitable clothing for the weather. Trip will begin with a safety briefing on shore followed by a leisurely paddle and a series of short cultural and natural history interpretations. DESCRIPTION:Ferry Point Community Camp-out/Bjorge Farm and View Points in the Battle River Valley. \nExplore the beautiful Battle River Valley June 24 and 25\, 2023. \nLocation: Meet at the Ferry Point Campground near Meeting Creek @ 10:00 a.m. Range Rd 184 north of Twp Rd 434\, Rosalind\, AB T0B 3Y0 \nThis trip will involve travel to view points in the Battle River Hills each day\, and a stop at the old homestead of the Bjorge’s to check for Turkey Vultures. Besides the vultures\, some of the highlights of the trip might be Brown Thrasher\, Great Horned Owl\, Mountain Bluebird\, Cliff Swallow\, White-faced Ibis. \nCome out for a day or the weekend. You have two ways to participate in this trip: \n1. Go out on Saturday and meet at 10:00 a.m. and spend the day\, bring your own lunch and drinks. Judy Boyd will be on hand to help identify species. On Saturday night there will be a potluck supper. Please bring an item to share. Also you can camp (tents or trailers) overnight at the Ferry Point Campground\, south of the Battle River bridge on Range Road 184. There is a minimal charge for the campsite. \n2. Go out on Sunday and meet at the campground at 10:00 a.m. bring your own lunch and drinks.
