SUMMARY:Central Alberta Christmas Bird Count
DESCRIPTION:Join other Central Alberta Birdwatchers by participating in the Central Alberta 2025 Christmas Bird Count on Sunday December 21\, 2025. Count hours 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can also Owl (count before 9:00 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m.). \nThere is no minimum time limit\, and you can watch your feeders or count birds on foot\, by car or using any other mode of transportation. \nPrint a copy of the Christmas Bird Count Tally Sheet\, click here\, and choose a place to count the birds (map and instructions under Programs). You may also pick up a Tally Sheet at Kerry Wood Nature Centre. \nIt is important to record low and high temperatures\, as well as snow and sky conditions. \nAll counters must record hours and kilometres walked/driven/skied\, etc. \nYou can also record any interesting or unusual bird seen any time during the Count Week (three days before and three days after the official Count Day). Please make sure\, though\, that you mark down when and where you saw the bird and what the bird was doing at the time. Add these birds to your tally sheet but make sure it is evident that it is a Count Week (CW) bird. \nPlease register where you will be counting with Shelley-anne or John Goulet (403-392-1894) so there will be no duplication of counts. \nTally sheets must be received by December 29th. You may drop sheets off (Attn: RDRN) at Kerry Wood Nature Centre 6300 – 45 Avenue Red Deer\, AB T4N 3M4 or mail to RDRN Attn: John & Shelley-anne Goulet Box 785 Red Deer\, AB T4N 5H2\, or email to shelleyannegoulet@gmail.com\, put “CBC” in the subject line.
